Activia is a range of probiotic yogurt products available in more than 70 countries. The brand has distinctive green and white packaging, and the flavors and varieties include fruit layers, a light range, and liquid versions that contain cereals for a quick breakfast. A range of daily probiotic shots was launched in 2019 in several countries. Made with fermented milk and containing live cultures, this line offers consumers a “gut boost,” and features flavors that include matcha and ginger. Sustainability is high on the company’s strategic agenda. Activia’s parent company Danone is aiming for up to one third of its plastic bottles to be made from recycled PET by 2025. In addition, Danone supports “regenerative agriculture”—farming practices that support healthy soil—and aims to source all French ingredients from regenerative agriculture by 2025. The company held a Green Day on 21 September 2018, donating a full day’s proceeds to this initiative.
