Bank Mandiri is the second-largest bank in Indonesia by assets. In 2018 the brand celebrated its 20th anniversary with a highly popular rewards scheme, giving loyal customers discounts and special offers through a range of partners, including the state-owned fuel company Pertamina, which led to huge queues at filling stations. The brand has also partnered with Garuda Indonesia for Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair, giving discounts to travellers who buy tickets with Bank Mandiri cards – a significant move as the airline was formerly partnered with Bank BNI. The bank has a network of around 2,600 branches and over 17,000 ATMs across the country, but its focus is on promoting the ease of digital banking and a cashless society.
