Deutsche Post is Europe’s largest postal company, delivering around 61 million letters in Germany every working day, and operating approximately 12,000 post offices and integrated stores. In addition to providing nationwide domestic postal services, Deutsche Post provides direct marketing services and both standard and tailored logistics solutions for business customers sending goods around the country and into the rest of Europe. The Deutsche Post brand DHL operates globally with a focus on parcels and non-standard logistics, while the Deutsche Post brand is only available within Germany. With very little domestic competition aside from a few regional providers, the brand does barely any advertising. Its brands promise is “Deutsche Post – Die Post für Deutschland" (the post for Germany). In late 2017, Deutsche Post announced trials of a delivery robot in the town of Bad Hersfeld. The PostBOT, designed in Deutsche Post’s bright yellow colour, will be able to carry up to six trays of post, and relieve deliver workers of their heavy loads. Deutsche Post is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and is part of the DAX30 and Euro Stoxx 50 indices of leading companies.
