The Dior brand has been revolutionizing high fashion ever since the late 1940s, and has flourished as one of the most highly regarded fashion houses in the world. With 208 stores worldwide, it now offers cosmetics, leather goods, jewelry, watches and fragrance. Signature designs include the Lady Dior handbag, and the brand’s first fragrance, Miss Dior, is one of its most iconic products. Celebrities are key to communications, with the brand recently partnering with K-pop boy band BTS and singer Jorja Smith, as well as enjoying long-standing connections with ambassadors Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron. A succession of renowned designers have steered the brand over the years, including Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano and Raf Simons. The brand made headlines three years ago when it appointed Maria Grazia Chiuri (formerly Creative Director at Valentino) as the first ever female Artistic Director in Dior’s seven decades of male leadership. She has already made a sizable impact on the house, using the runway as a platform to spread messages of female empowerment. In 2019, Dior launches its personalized ABCDior pop-up store in Singapore, which allows customers to have their initials embroidered on a selection of goods, from the Book Tote to Diorcamp bags and Walk ‘n’ Dior sneakers. The brand is also hosting an exhibition in Tokyo to showcase its history.
