GLOBAL 2016: Mobility solutions will expand reach of the car brands

Mobility solutions, ultimately, are about growing the reach of automotive companies.
But it takes time. As the car brands consider all these new challenges, like connectivity or the technological interface in vehicles, or the opportunities for differentiation, it’s important to realize that the car business is an enormously capital-intensive industry. The auto brands are like super tankers on the sea. They turn slowly. This is not a nimble business. People study everything thoroughly. People sitting in the boardrooms have some huge bets to place, and if they get them wrong they’re stuck with them for years. But when someone places a bet, almost everyone else will follow.
