RCTI (Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia) was the first non-state-owned broadcaster in Indonesia and has grown into the station with the strongest viewership, reaching 80 percent of the national population. RCTI has 48 relay stations around the country and reaches 190.4 million viewers in 478 cities. The station has grown significantly in the past year. Its flagship news program, ‘Seputar Indonesia’, has morning, lunch-time, evening and late-night editions, and the business can expect to see a surge in advertising revenue in 2016 as RCTI has the rights to the UEFA Euro 2016 football tournament. Football is a huge draw card in Indonesia, where the sport is especially popular among male viewers.
 
Since 1992, RCTI has used the slogans ‘RCTI Oke’ (‘RCTI, okay!’) and ‘Kebanggaan Bersama Milik Bangsa’, which means ‘The collective pride of the nation’. The channel is available free to air in a few cities in Timor-Leste, in Johor Bahru in Malaysia, and in Singapore by consumers with an antenna. RCTI is 100 percent owned by PT Media Nusantara Citra (MNC), which also owns Global TV and 75 percent of MNCTV, both private Indonesian television stations. MNC is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
