Supermi was the first brand of instant noodles to launch in Indonesia and remains a firm favorite with families. Recent additions to the flavor line-up, including sop buntut (oxtail soup) and semur ayam, a type of chicken stew with sweet gravy, have been well received by Supermi loyalists and have helped the brand become the only one in the Indofood stable to increase its market share during the current economic downturn.
Supermi is this year sponsoring Super Family 100, a popular quiz show on national television. It has also been running a campaign to gain traction with mothers called "Jagoannya Kreasi Ibu" (or "Mom's Magic Recipe"). This builds on Supermi’s long heritage of focusing on family settings and links between the present day and memories of the meals people were served by their own mothers as they were growing up. Supermi is owned by Indofood, which also produces Indomie and Sarimi; Supermi is the mid-range option. Indofood is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and also produces dairy products, snacks, food seasonings, baby food and beverages.
