ITV is the oldest and largest commercial TV network in the UK, and is best known for the long-running soap opera Coronation Street, reality contests such as Love Island, and the respected ITV nightly News at Ten bulletin. For many years in the shadow of the BBC, it has started to produce and commission new programmes that are winning industry awards and global sales. ITV is also producing more of its programming outside the studio and is selling productions, such as the hit series Poldark, to the BBC. The brand has announced plans to open an ITV theme park in 2024 called the London Resort, in north Kent. It will feature Ken Barlow bumper cars (a nod to the Coronation Street character) and an I’m a Celeb river rapids ride among 50 rides and attractions, and 3,500 hotel rooms. On air, the brand is drawing on 52 artists to create a fresh set of idents, with a new one featuring every week of 2019.  Uber Eats has paid in the region of £5 million to sponsor this year’s Love Island.
