Rémy Martin is a luxury champagne cognac that has become a byword for the category. Cognac consumption has been growing around the world, to the benefit of Rémy Martin, which is seeing strong growth in the US and in China, where anti-corruption measures in recent years had put a dampener on corporate gifting, which hit the luxury spirits market. Sales there are now recovering, and while several competing brands have been reducing prices to maintain sales, Rémy Cointreau, parent company of Rémy Martin, has stuck with its premium pricing. This has so far been effective, with Rémy Martin sales worldwide rising by more than 13 percent in 2017-18, with volumes up 6 percent. In 2017, the brand launched a new logo and website with the tagline “Terroir, People and Time” underlining the brand’s long-term mission to craft exceptional spirits. This year, Rémy Martin awarded “Centaurs of the Environment” trophies to 70 winemakers, to reward their commitment to ecological agriculture.
