Tab is a multichannel betting brand that is part of Tabcorp’s portfolio of gambling and entertainment businesses. Its focus is on sports and horse racing betting, both in its stores and online. It has been developing its technology both to integrate its systems with those of Tatts Group, with which it recently merged and also to keep pace with highly competitive fast-growing online rivals. Tab has dropped its UBET branding established in 2015; all stores will soon operate under the Tab name and all services will be available nationally via a single app. Tab is tipped to be the most likely buyer of the Western Australian Government’s attempts to sell the state betting service to a private operator. The process has stalled, however, with the resignation of a group of thoroughbred racing representatives from a committee established to provide feedback on the privatization. The group quit over a lack of “genuine engagement”.
